Self Care for the skin

Namaste beloved. I chose to do this post to highlight the significance of self care. Self care and hygge are the rising trends these days and I cannot agree more with the current theories. Self care for me is reading a good book by the fire sipping a nice warm cup of capuchino coffee. But there is another aspect of self care which has really made me feel relaxed and motivated.

Skin care is a part of self care which cannot be ignored. No matter what kind of skin we have it needs care and love. I struggled with troubled skin for years until I learned the art of skin care the hard way. So today I am sharing some guidance which will help you adopt a proper skin care routine for yourself.

1- BE FLEXIBLE

Now in the early hours of the morning I already have a lot to do. I have to do the laundry, make my breakfast and get ready for work. Now if someone tells me to get up half an hour earlier for skincare I wont find it pleasant at all. So what I do is that I avoid using cold creams which take a lot of time getting absorbed into skin. I save them for the night while in the morning I use a quick absorbing cream and my favourite vanilla lip balm.

2- ENOUGH OF HOME REMEDIES

From my personal experience, home remedies arent that effective as they are showcased. There are a couple of issues here. I used to apply the coconut oil- sugar scrub which I prepared at home. But the sugar particles were really coarse. So I switched to powdered sugar. But still there wasnt the proper cleansing. I rather prefer my rose and walnut scrub which I purchased from thd store. Its gentle on my skin and doesnt cost much money.

3- AROMA MATTERS DEAR

If we used products in skincare whose aroma makes us feel happy and relaxed, we are more likely to stick to our skincare routine. I swapped my shampoo for one which smells better, so now hairwash is a relaxing process. My rose and walnut scrub smells amazing too.

4- LOOK AT THE CATEGORIES AND SUB CATEGORIES

Brands like Oriflame, Khadi, Biotique and many more have separate cleansers, scrubs, oils, lip balms depending on different skin types. Its always better to choose something that is good enough for your skin instead of randomly picking up anything from the store.

5- HAVE FUN WITH SKINCARE

I purchase most of my skincare products from women in my community who have purchsed the membership from the brand. In this way, I am able to support them financially and I get to interact with people too. I really enjoy going through the catalogues, visiting their home to test a sample or try the new perfume before buying it and it becomes a fun filled evening for all of us.
