Finding good books to read

READING AS A PART OF SELF CARE

Reading the right stuff helps you relax, so its always blissful to settle down into the cosy ambiance of the day with a good book to read. No noise, no sound, just some peaceful moments. I heard in a movie that books are your best friends because of  their theme which is “No demands, no complaints.”

SELECTING THE GOOD BOOK

Dont just pick up any random book to read. It might end up annoying you. I recently bought a really famous self help book by a renowned author and found it really annoying. So dont just go with reviews and suggestions.

SELECT A SPIRITUAL BOOK WHICH APPEALS TO YOU

There are so many spiritual books one loves to read. But if you buy one which doesnt appeal to you, then its no good. For instance I prefer books with mention of Universe, light workers and Goddesses instead of angels, spirit guides or other specific Gods. You might have an entirely different taste.

A GOOD SELF HELP BOOK WITH MESSAGES YOU CAN RELATE TO

Self help books are really amazing. They can really lighten you up and fill you up with great suggestions. Make sure that the writing style of the author appeals to you and you read something you really need help with.

LEARNING ABOUT NEW STUFF

I am currently reading a book on HYGGE which is a Danish way of living. I am also planning on reading books on bonding with nature and manifesting.

FICTION vs NON FICTION

Now this is something tricky. I love reading both. But the fiction these days doesnt appeal much to me. I dont like reading cheesy romance novels or novels about war or revenge. I do try to find some different ones

though. Be sure that you dont pick up any random book. Discuss on facebook groups or form a book reading group to help you with these.

IF YOU LIKE

I do write fiction stuff. My stories are based on hope, dreams, divine love, faith, suspense and Hygge. If you would love to read them you can check out my two fiction stories,”SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TONIGHT” and “RAPUNZEL AND HER MOONLIGHT” at oyewiki.com. You can read them for free and these also have hidden teachings and messages in them.

Happy New Moon.

  1. I have such a passion for reading! I find that I go through phases. Sometimes I want to ready nothing but non fiction other times I need a break from reality and read fiction books.

  2. Love this post! I usually buy 3 books at a time – 1 classic fiction, 1 self-help, and 1 on a topic I would like to learn more about (I’m currently waiting on a Buddhism book to arrive!). This switches it up and keeps me excited to read 🙂

  4. I read the book about Hygge too (just before fall, perfect) and I loved it. Made me feel all cozy. Also, the book You are a badass, about manifesting, is awesome. It’s somewhat rude sometimes, but I love that. I always try to find a balance. First fiction, then self-help, then light reading, then heavy reading etc..!
